Fun and adventure in the natural world are offered for children of all ages during the February school vacation at the Green Briar Nature Center in East Sandwich. 
Family activities are scheduled as well including story times, a candy making class, and a jam making class in the Green Briar Jam Kitchen.

Cape Cod Glass Club


The Cape Cod Glass Club will meet March 6, 2012 at 1PM in the auditorium of the Sandwich Glass Museum.
Bernard Drabeck, Past President and Education Chairperson of the New England Paperweight Collectors Association and President of the International Paperweight Collectors Association will be the speaker. 
His topic: "A rose is a rose ... paperweight".

Nauset Garden Club


The Nauset Garden Club will be awarding four $5,000 dollar scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year. 
To qualify, students must be fill-time residents of Cape Cod or the Islands and entering their junior or senior year ... or enrolled in a graduate program of an acredited college or university. 
Applicants must be majoring in any of the following ... horticulture, landscape design, environmental studies, oceanography, botany, plant biology, land planning or environmental engineering.
The deadline for submitting applications and related materials is April 4th.

Simon Youth Foundation


The Simon Youth Foundation is a national non-profit that provides educational opportunities for at risk high school students. 
For the 12th year, the Foundation is awarding a college scholarship to one student from every community that is home to a Simon property. 
Local students can now pick up a scholarship application at the guest services center at the Cape Cod Mall ... the application deadline is March 1st.
The Simon Youth Scholarship program awarded over $1 million dollars to 260 students nationwide in 2011. 

Friends of the Mackie Family


The Mackie Family lost their home and its entire contents in a fire on January 21st.
To help them get re-established, the Friends of the Mackie Family have organized three Mashpee events to raise funds, and invite you to participate.
Sunday, January 29th: Cape Cod Children's Museum from 5-7PM. Suggested donation: $10 per person/ $25 per family.
ALL proceeds to support the Mackie Family Fire Fund

Thursday, February 2nd: Carbo's Bar and Grille at Deer Crossing 5-9PM. Great food, music, silent auction and 50/50.
Portion of the dinner and bar proceeds will go to support the Mackie Family Fire Fund.

Thursday, March 8th: Soprano's Ristorante at Deer Crossing from 5-10PM.
