March 10, 2010 (DENNIS) Dennis police are investigating a freak accident yesterday in which a woman was dragged through a car wash on Route 134.

Investigators say 74-year-old Carol Burton-Groman was getting out of her vehicle when the automatic car wash mechanism engaged.

Police say she either got caught on the door or was dragged into the washing structure.

Her unoccupied car exited the car wash, rolled across the parking lot and hit a large stone.

Burton-Groman was found lying on the ground outside the building. She was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Community Connections Walk-A-Thon

Community Connections will hold its third annual Walk-A-Thon & Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 18th in two locations, South Yarmouth and Fairhaven, to benefit people with disabilities on the South Coast, South Shore and Cape Cod.
The walk will begin and end at the Community Connections Fairhaven Center, located at 10 David Drown Boulevard and at the South Yarmouth Center, located at 127 Whites Path. Registration will begin at 10:30AM and the walk kicks-off at 11:00AM. Lunch will be provided for all our walkers and supporters. There is no registration fee, and free t-shirts will be given to those who raise at least $50 in pledges. Fun Day activities will run all day with both locations hosting an open house, carnival games and much more.
