9:00 a.m. update: Numerous crashes and spin outs. reported along Route 6 in the mid and upper Cape. A van rolled on its side eastbound east of Exit 6 in Barnstable. A passing motorist was able to help the driver out of the van. He was shaken up but not injured.

Reports from the scene say both of the drivers in Falmouth also had to be extricated from their vehicles, one of which may have rolled over. None of the injuries appear life-threatening.

2 a.m. update:
The nagging storm combined with a subtle temperature drop overnight allowed a minor accumulation of snow and ice on area roadways. Several crashes were reported including one on Route 6 between exits 11 and 12 on the Harwich/Brewster line about 1:30 a.m. The vehicle crashed over the guardrail into a tree. Luckily the driver was not injured. Roads will likely remain slick through the morning commute. The storm should finally move away today and forecasters continue to promise a beautiful weekend.
