March 2, 2010 (BOSTON) State Senate President Therese Murray says a new $5 fee being charged to Registry of Motor Vehicles customers who want to talk to a real person is unfair.
The Plymouth democrat says she believes there is enough support in the Senate to eliminate the charge.
The fee took effect yesterday and is being assessed to people who talk to an agency employee in certain circumstances, instead of online, by mail or over that automated phone system.
