Top story: Chatham TD Bank robbed, suspect captured after chase

CHATHAM
- The TD Bank on Route 28 in Chatham was held up Sunday around 12:30 p.m.  A chase through Chatham and Harwich led to the capture at gunpoint of a male suspect on Route 28 near Bay Road in Harwich. Chatham Police tell CWN that at approximately 12:33 p.m., they responded to the TD Bank at 693 Main Street for a reported bank alarm. Upon arrival it was learned that a bank robbery had occurred. Based upon information received and in conjunction with an ongoing multi-agency police investigation, a male subject that matched the description of the Chatham robbery was arrested at approximately 12:42 p.m. The suspect was operating a vehicle that also matched the description of the vehicle seen leaving the Chatham TD Bank branch. Arrested was: Joshua R. Law, 29 of South Yarmouth. Law was charged with Unarmed Robbery, and Child Endangerment. Bail was set at $50,000.00 cash. Law will be arraigned in Orleans District Court on Monday. There were no reported injuries to bank employees or customers during this incident.

The child endangerment charge appears to stem from the evidence in the photo above where police detectives from a department consortium are seen searching Law's car while a detective from Dennis holds a baby girl found in the vehicle at the time of the arrest.

Rear-end collision flips minivan on roof

EAST FALMOUTH
– Around 12:30 p.m. Sunday a two-vehicle crash that could have been a “paper exchange” ended much more dramatically. A Dodge Caravan stopped at the intersection of Hayway Road and Old Barnstable Road was struck from behind by a GMC commercial utility van (seen at left in photo above). The impact of the crash shot the Dodge across the intersection and caused it to flip over on its roof.

The male driver of the Dodge was able to climb out of his vehicle with the help of Falmouth Police officers and was evaluated for a scratch on his hand by Falmouth Fire Rescue before declining any treatment.

The male driver of the service van was also uninjured and was able to drive the van from the scene.
