Updated: Car vs pedestrian in Osterville sends pastor to Boston hospital


OSTERVILLE 
- One person was taken to Cape Cod Hospital after being struck by a car in Osterville Thursday morning. The crash happened shortly after 7 a.m. on Wianno Avenue at Bates Street. Reports say an 18-year old driver in a Nissan Altima who was on the way to school struck the pedestrian.

The victim, later identified as Rev. Philip Davignon of Our Lady of Assumption Church in Osterville, reportedly suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital and later transferred to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. 

A Sheriff's Department investigator was on scene photographing the scene. Barnstable Police are investigating the crash.

Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod sends aircrews in support of Haiti relief efforts
MASS MILITARY RESERVATION - Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod is scheduled to send an HH60 Jayhawk helicopter to the Caribbean to relieve crews that have been working in Haiti on Jan. 22, 2010.

Air Station Cape Cod sent an HU 25 Guardian jet to the Coast Guard Seventh District in Miami on Jan. 20, 2010.

The Aircrews will join over 800 Coast Guard responders already in the air, on the ground, and in the water around Haiti. They will be responsible for carrying out the Coast Guard’s mission in support of rescue operations in Haiti and assisting the Haitian government in their recovery efforts.

Aircrews are directly involved with airlifting victims who need medical assistance as well as delivery of humanitarian aid.

Car vs boat at Falmouth boatyard


FALMOUTH
 - Just before 10:30 a.m. on Scranton Avenue at the Pier 37 Boatyard a Buick Century sedan left the road and crashed into a sign post and a boat in storage. The first boat was pushed into the boat next to it and two more.

The elderly female driver was unhurt and declined any treatment after being checked by Falmouth Fire Rescue.

Falmouth PD were able to transport the driver to her nearby home and were on scene investigating the cause of the incident.

Boatyard personal moved the boats with their large forklift to allow the Buick to be removed.
