Texting, stop sign violation blamed for Harwich crash


HARWICH
 - A two vehicle crash sent two people to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries Sunday night at 7p.m.

Harwich Police say the driver of a white Dodge Ram pick-up was texting while heading south on Grey Neck Road, and blew the stop sign ramming into the side of a black coupe traveling on Lower County Road.

Harwich Police investigate room invasion at local motel
HARWICH - Harwich Police report at 11:00 p.m. Saturday night, Patrol Officers were dispatched to a motel on Route 28 in West Harwich for a reported disturbance. The caller reported that a victim inside a room had been assaulted by a bat and was rendered unconscious. The assailants then stole $2000 in cash from him.

Patrol Officers Robert Horgan, Keith Kannally, and Derek Dutra arrived at the scene. The victim had regained consciousness and identified the suspects as one white and two black males. They fled the scene in a dark colored SUV. The victim said that he did not know the suspects nor did he provide any other descriptions of them or what led up to the assault.

The Harwich Police notified area police departments and other Harwich Police Patrol Officers searched the area but the suspects were not located at the time of the incident. The case remains under investigation at this time.

Fall from roof in Harwich
HARWICH - Around 1:15 p.m. Sunday, a man working on a garage roof at 98 Gilbert Lane fell to the ground, approximately a ten foot fall after the plank he was standing collapsed.

Harwich Fire and Rescue transported the roofer to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries.

Car vs guardrail injures one in Harwich


HARWICH
- A 45year old woman driving south on Route 28 about 2 p.m. Sunday, apparently lost control of her vehicle and slammed into a guard rail and ended up in the front yard at 1000 Route 28 at Ridgevale Road. She was removed from her Toyota Corolla and transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Harwich Fire and Rescue. Harwich police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Two-vehicle crash in Falmouth


FALMOUTH 
- Sunday just before 1:30 p.m., on East Falmouth Highway (Route 28) at Fresh Pond Road, a northbound Dodge Durango struck the front of a VW Touareg that appeared to have pulled out into traffic.

The passenger in the VW was transported to Falmouth Hospital by Falmouth Fire Rescue with minor injuries. the driver of the Dodge and the two occupants of the VW did not require treatment.

Falmouth PD was on scene to direct traffic and investigate the cause of the crash.
