Single vehicle off the road in Falmouth


FALMOUTH
- Friday evening just before 6:30 p.m. a Scion tC carrying a female driver traveling alone left the road on Route 151 eastbound just east of the Sandwich Road intersection.

The vehicle ended up on its side near the woods.

The driver appeared to have escaped injury and declined treatment from Falmouth Fire Rescue.

Falmouth Police were on scene to control traffic and investigate the crash.

Simultaneous calls keep Hyannis fire busy
HYANNIS - Two simultaneous reports of possible building fires had Hyannis firefighters busy Friday afternoon. Just after 3 p.m. a report of a fire at 26 Guy Lane came in. Another fire was reported at the same time in the basement of 124 Sudbury Lane. Firefighters determined the Guy Lane call was a malfunctioning oven, while a clothes dryer was found to be the culprit in causing the smoke in the basement on Sudbury Lane. No inuries or significant damage occurred in either incident.

Firefighters graduate from fire academy


HYANNIS 
- 24 Cape Cod firefighters recently completed training and graduated from the Barnstable County Fire Rescue Training Academy in Hyannis. The completion of the Firefighter I and Firefighter II is required of all new firefighters.

Graduating were:  TJ LaBonte, Jared Fulcher, Ryan Sargent, Steve Coombs, Bill Neiser, Brandy Powers-Tarala, Ryan Jones, Rachael Foley, Mike Medeiros, Christy Avila Douglas, Humberto Miranda, Thomas Roda, Alyssa Beaty, Matthew Madeux, Lisa Leger-Potter, Jeffrey Mutrie, Chuck Marshall, Hunter Tyrell, Terrence Rogers, Nick Mayer, Dave Maki, Kevin Young, Bill Grozier, and Samuel Blakeslee.
