Several charged after weekend disturbance at DYS facility in Brewster BREWSTER - On Saturday, at approximately 7:20 p.m., the Brewster Police Department received a call reporting a disturbance at the Brewster Youth Detention Center, a state Department of Youth Services facility located inside of Nickerson State Park. The caller reported that a staff member had been injured and there were several out of control youths involved.
Officers responded, with assistance from the Orleans, Harwich, and State Police. Upon arrival the officers were directed to an area of the facility where several youths were involved in a shouting match with members of the staff. Five youths were temporarily taken into custody to quell the situation. Upon further investigation it was determined that all five youths had been involved in allegedly assaulting three staff members. Police say all five will be charged and summons will be submitted to Orleans District Court.
The involved parties, all 17-years old, were identified as Nathan Cormier, of New Bedford, Lino Correia, of Randolph, Denzel Smith of Centerville, Cameron Soto of New Bedford, and Damon Teixeira of New Bedford.
Correia, Smith, and Soto are being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod Foot), and Teixeira and Cormier are being charged with assault and battery. Release furnished by Brewster Police
Multi vehicle crash in Centerville
CENTERVILLE - Police and rescuers were called to a multi vehicle crash in Centerville Monday afternoon.
It appeared a Chrysler sedan, Toyota Corolla and a tow truck collided at Route 28 and South County Road about 2:45 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
Traffic was jammed for a time due to lane blockage.

Two escape injury in Provincetown rollover
PROVINCETOWN - Two men were treated and released after a rollover crash in Provincetown Monday morning. An Isuzu Rodeo was entering Route 6 from Conwell Street about 9 a.m. when the vehicle went out of control and rolled over coming to rest wheels down in the median against some trees, The driver was identified as Eric Smith of Whitman, and the passenger as Willis King of Wellfleet. Provincetown Police are investigating the crash.
Meanwhile, another vehicle crashed into the median of Route 6 between exits 2 and 1 westbound about 9:30 a.m. The elderly woman in the vehicle was taken to a hospital for evaluation. State Police are investigating that crash. Photo by Tim Caldwell/CWN
Trio charged in Centerville break-in CENTERVILLE - Three Yarmouth men were nabbed allegedly breaking into a Centerville home thanks to an alert neighbor. Police received a call of a suspicious vehicle on Nyes Neck Road and the sound of breaking glass late Sunday afternoon. When they arrived Jason M. Ruffino, 19, Douglas St. Pierre, 18, and Ross Martin, 19, were reportedly caught in the act. All three were expected to be arraigned Monday morning in Barnstable District Court on charges of unarmed burglary and larceny from a building.

Robert Gonsalves of Harwichport was arrested by Patrol Officer Robert Hadfield on a warrant.
Mr. Gonsalves was arrested during a landlord/tenant dispute call.
David Kimball of West Yarmouth was arrested by Detective Robert Brackett on a warrant.
Mr. Kimball was arrested during a motor vehicle stop.
Jamie Olejniczak of West Yarmouth was arrested by Detective Robert Brackett on a warrant.
Ms. Olejniczak was arrested during a motor vehicle stop.
Rachel Banas of Dennisport was arrested by Detective Robert Brackett on a warrant.
Ms. Banas was arrested during a motor vehicle stop.
Douglas Clark of South Harwich was arrested by Detective Sergeant David Jacek and charged with Rape.
Mr. Clark was arrested after the victim went to the police station to report the crime.

Travis Taylor of East Harwich was arrested by Patrol Officer Eric Geake for Assault and Battery, Intimidation of a Witness, and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (knife).
Mr. Taylor was arrested during a domestic violence call.
