Two-car Dennisport crash at Sea Street and 28

DENNISPORT – A around 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, a Toyota Corolla and a Mercury sedan collided at the intersection of Route 28 and Sea Street in Dennisport. The cause of the crash is not known at this time but it appears that the female driver of the Corolla attempted to enter Route 28 and collided with the Mercury, being operated westbound on Route 28 by an elderly woman.
The driver of the Corolla was able to pull off Route 28 and into the parking lot of the Route 28 Club. The Mercury ended up on the south side of 28 on the shoulder by a Hess gas station. It appears that the two women were the only occupants of their respective vehicles. Initially they both refused treatment but about ten minutes later one of the women relented and was transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Dennis Rescue with unknown injuries.
Because both cars were pulled off the roadway, traffic was slowed but not seriously disrupted. Dennis police are investigating.
