Multiple rollover driver escapes serious injury

The driver of this Jeep escaped serious injury after reportedly rolliver over multiple times.
MARSTONS MILLS - Officials are amazed a driver was not seriously injured after his Jeep Cherokee reportedly rolled over several times and struck a utility pole.

The crash happened on Route 149 by the Cash Market about 10:20 p.m.

The driver had self extricated and was walking around when rescuers arrived.

Barnstable Police are investigation.

Meanwhile, one person was slightly injured in a single-vehicle crash on Route 6 in West Barnstable just before midnight.

State Police are investigating that crash.

Charges filed in deadly Bourne crash
POCASSET - Charges have been formally filed against the driver in a deadly crash on June 29th in Bourne.

21-year-old Jonathan Muir of Falmouth was charged with motor vehicle homicide, operating under the influence of alcohol (OUI), OUI causing serious bodily harm (2 counts), speeding and marked lanes. Muir was behind the wheel of a Porsche 944 that struck a tree on County Road early on the morning of June 29th.

Passenger Cassandra Flynn-Rakos, 21, of Bourne (right) was killed in the crash. 

Two other passengers, Erica Pouler and Sonya Dangelo, both 21, of Bourne were seriously injured. Both are now out of the hospital and recuperating at home.





Yarmouth motorcyclist lucky to escape injury
YARMOUTH - A motorcyclist was lucky to escape injury after crashing his bike Monday afternoon.

The crash happened on Townbrook Road.

Firefighters had to mitigate a fuel spill.

Yarmouth Police are investigating.

Man charged with assault after allegedly forcing former girlfriend into car
FALMOUTH - Falmouth Police charged a Bourne man with assault and battery after he allegedly forced his ex-girlfriend into a car. 20-year-old Anthony Hathaway pleaded not guilty Monday in court. In a bizarre twist to the story, Hathaway's 68-year old grandmother was reportedly behind the wheel of the car which returned to the woman's residence as police arrived. Police are still deciding if the grandmother will face charges. The woman was not injured in the incident.

Nantucket teen brings explosive device home
NANTUCKET - A teenager found an old military ordnance Saturday and brought it to his Nantucket home. The boy's father called police who called the Mass State Police Bomb Squad. The "old rocket" was safely detonated.

Three injured in Wellfleet crash
WELLFLEET - Three people were taken to Cape Cod Hospital after a three-vehicle crash on Route 6 in Wellfleet early Monday afternoon. A vehicle waiting to turn into Seamen's Bank was rear-ended. That vehicle was then rear-ended by a delivery van. Several other people were treated and released at the scene. Wellfleet Police are investigating the crash.

Harwich Police dispatch operations moves to new station
HARWICH - Work is progressing on the new Harwich Police station and the dispatch center is on the move to the new location according to a press release from Harwich Police. Effective July 13, 2009, the dispatchers are no longer on duty in the old Harwich Police building. They are now located in the new communication center, next to the old police building. The old police building will be open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. for records only. All walk in issues such as reporting a crime, request for officers, or information will be handled at the new public safety communication center in the new public safety building. After 4:00 p.m. the old police building will be closed. Any issue will need to be dealt with in the new communication center.

Effective July 20, 2009, the old police building will permanently be closed and the new building will be open for business.

Provincetown Police week in review
PROVINCETOWN - From Tuesday, July 07 to Monday July 13, the Provincetown Police logged 487 calls for service. All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Truro Tercentennial celebration to cause delays
TRURO - The Truro Police, Fire and DPW are announcing several road closures, heavy traffic areas and traffic delays as a result of scheduled Truro Tercentennial events this summer. ORV access will be restricted on all Bay side beaches north of Pamet Harbor on July 17 and 18, 2009.

Concerts at the newly named Snow’s Park in Truro Center resumed on Thursday July 2, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. and will run over the summer. Expect traffic delays due to heavy pedestrian traffic.

Thursday July 16, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. -  Commemorative Celebration of Truro’s Incorporation at Cobb Library and Pamet Park. Truro Center Road will be closed due to heavy pedestrian traffic. Local traffic may detour using Route 6 and Castle Road to Bridge Road. Detour will be in affect from Truro Center Road at Town Hall Road and Truro Center Road at Jams. No through traffic will be allowed.

:00 p.m - Fireworks on the Bay will take place. As such, the following roads will be detoured: (Rain Date July 18, 2009)
Castle Road to Corn Hill Road – One way traffic only from Route 6.
Castle Road at Meetinghouse Road – no access
Castle Road at Bridge Road – no access
Castle Road at Truro Center Road – All traffic directed to Route 6 ramps
No parking signs have been posted in certain areas of Castle Road. There is NO parking on Corn Hill Road. This will be enforced.
Corn Hill Beach Parking Lot – Limited parking available
Police and Medical personnel will be on scene. Beaches will be heavily patrolled.

Saturday July 18, 2009 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. - Beach Party Bonanza at Corn Hill Beach Corn Hill Beach Parking Lot will have limited access and limited parking due to heavy pedestrian activity. You should plan to carpool to this event.
Corn Hill Road is posted no parking and will be strictly enforced
Police and Medical personnel will be on scene. Beaches will be heavily patrolled.

Sunday, July 19, 2009 10:00 a.m. to Noon - Parade and Festival The parade route begins at Grozier Square and ends at the Highland Center on Old Dew Line Road, located off South Highland Road.
Pedestrian traffic will be heavy along the parade route.
The entire parade route will be closed for a period of time to allow the parade to get through. Times are approximate and are dependent on the speed of the parade, but expect closures and delays.
