Top story: Horrific crash kills one, inujred three others-two critically in Bourne

POCASSET - (with WXTK news) A horrific crash killed one person and injured three others, two critically.

About 1:30 a.m. a 1984 Porsche 944 crashed head-on into a tree in the area of 750 County Road, south of Barlows Landing Road with four people in it.

A female rear seat passenger, 21-year-old Cassandra Flynn-Rakos (lower right) of Bourne, was pronounced dead at Falmouth Hospital.

The driver, 21-year-old Jonathan Muir of Falmouth, was rushed to Falmouth Hospital while the front seat passenger  was rushed to Tobey Hospital, both in critical condition.

 
A second rear-sear passenger was taken to Falmouth Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The critically injured victims were later taken to Boston Hospitals.

The other passengers were identified as Erica Pouler and Sonya Dangelo, both 21, of Bourne.

Firefighters had to extricate all four victims from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life. 

Police say speed was a factor in the crash.

Investigators are still trying to determine if alcohol was a factor.

Bicyclist struck in Yarmouth
YARMOUTH - A bicyclist was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with a possible leg injury after beign struck by a car in Yarmouth. It happened about 9:40 p.m. on East Main Street near Baker Square. Meanwhile just after 8 p.m. a pedestrian accident was reported in Dennis by the Patriot Square Cinemas. Further details were not immediately available.

Two-car crash at notorious Falmouth intersection

FALMOUTH
- A 4 p.m. crash at Worcester Court and Spring Bars Road sent one operator to Falmouth Hospital.

A Jeep Cherokee and a Volvo sedan collided in the middle of this notorious intersection sending the female driver of the Volvo to the hospital via Falmouth Fire Rescue ambulance with minor injuries. The driver of the Jeep refused medical aid.

Driver escapes injury in dramatic Hyannis crash

The driver of this Toyota Camry managed to walk away after rear-ended the pickup in background.
HYANNIS - A young male driver was able to walk away from a dramatic crash in Hyannis Monday afternoon. About 3:30 p.m. at West Main Street and Old Strawberry Hill Road, a Toyota Camry rear-ended a Ford pickup which rode up on the car, demolishing the front end. The driver was evaluated and released. Barnstable Police are investigating the crash. At right: a police officer goes over paperwork with the driver.

Pickup vs building in Harwich Port


HARWICH PORT
– A young male driver of a Chevy S10 pickup apparently lost control of his vehicle in a parking lot and struck the sidewall of a business called “Sativa” at 517 Route 28 and Ayer Lane in Harwich Port around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

The vehicle jumped a parking barrier and pushed in the exterior wall, sending objects flying in the kitchen of the business (photo at right). The Harwich building inspector was called to the scene to determine the extent of the damage. There were no injuries and Harwich police are investigating the accident.
