Pair of crashes in Sandwich SANDWICH - One person was taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Sandwich Sunday afternoon. The crash happened about 3:30 p.m. on Rotue 130 at Service Road. Two others were treated and released at the scene. Meanwhile a short time earlier a motorcycle spilled on Cotuit Road near Quaker Meetinghouse Road. The operator was treated and released at the scene. Sandwich Police are investigating both crashes.
Rollover in KMart parking lot
HYANNIS - Barnstable Police are investigating a rollover crash in the KMart parking lot off Route 132. A Honda CR-V flipped on its side around 11:15 a.m. The driver 31-year-old Karen Graveline of Dennisport was not seriously injured but was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation. Motorists advised to avoid Route 134 in Dennis Monday DENNIS - During the week of June 29th the overpass on Route 134 at the Route 6 interchange will be paved beginning on Monday morning at about 6:30 a.m.. The paving should last throughout the day. Motorist are advised to avoid the area, if at all possible, by seeking alternate routes.
Roadwork will continue on the overpass on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday which at times may cause minor delays.
This should complete the roadwork on the Route 134 overpass.
Motorist forced off Route 6 by wrong-way driver WEST BARNSTABLE - A motorist was lucky to escape a scare on the Mid-Cape Highway early Sunday morning. About 1:45 a.m. the motorist was traveling west between exits 5 and 4 when reports say a wrong-way driver approached. The motorist traveling the right way swerved to avoid a head-on collision and crashed into the woods. Miraculously the driver escaped without injury. State Police were already responding to several calls on the wrong-way driver but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
