Three hospitalized after two-vehicle crash

MARSTONS MILLS - At 5 p.m. Saturday a small car collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of Route 149 and Route 28 in Marstons Mills. Barnstable Police and Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills (COMM) Fire responded to the scene.
The driver of the Honda Civic had to be extricated and transported to Cape Cod Hospital. A second COMM ambulance transported a female passenger from the Ford Ranger pickup truck and a mutual aid ambulance from West Barnstable transported the male driver of the pickup truck to Cape Cod Hospital as well.

Chatham Police arrest male for disorderly conduct near public restrooms
CHATHAM - On Saturday at approximately 3:22 p.m., Chatham Police responded to complaints of a male acting suspiciously in the area of a public restroom. The public restroom is located along the Cape Cod Rail Trail Bike path, in the area of White’s Pond off Wilfred Road in Chatham.
Witnesses described a semi clothed male attempting to look into a public restroom. On arrival police located a male matching the descriptions behind the restroom. When police approached, the male fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Officer William G. Massey and Brian J. Skinner placed the male under arrest. The suspect was identified as 53-year-old Mark Hamlyn of Brewster. Mr. Hamlyn has been charged with Disorderly Conduct and a Chatham Town By-Law Violation.
Chatham Police say Mr. Hamlyn was found guilty of Indecent Exposure and Open and Gross Lewdness in 1998 in the town of Brewster. He also was found guilty of Indecent Exposure in 1995 in Brewster.
The Chatham Police Department is asking the public to contact Officer William Massey or Detective Louis Malzone at 508-945-1217, if they have had any suspicious contact with Mark Hamlyn along the Chatham (Cape Cod Rail Trail) Bike Path.

Suspects arrested during daytime housebreak
CHATHAM - On Saturday at around 12:53 p.m. Chatham police officers arrested four suspects during a daytime housebreak. Officer Joshua S. Wisniewski was on patrol when he observed signs of activity at a residence located at 101 Morris Island Road known to be vacant. In the course of investigating the activity, Officer Wisniewski observed persons attempting to flee the residence. The residence was surrounded and police made entry and located four male suspects inside. Arrested were 23-year-old Julien S. Collins of Chatham (right), a 16-year-old juvenile from Wellesley, a 15-year-old juvenile from Chatham, and a 16-year-old juvenile from North Easton.
All were charged with Breaking and Entering (Daytime) with Intent to Commit a Felony as well as possession of Marijuana and are scheduled to be arraigned in Orleans District Court on Monday, June 29, 2009.

Two injured in Wellfleet crash
SOUTH WELLFLEET - Two people were injured in a crash on Route 6 in South Wellfleet about 4 p.m. Because of multiple ambulance calls, an Orleans ambulance responded to assist in transport. Already heavy weekend traffic was heavily backed up. Wellfleet Police are investigating. Further details were not immediately available.
Man seriously injured in boating accident

HARWICHPORT - Saturday around 2 p.m., a man suffered a severe head laceration and knee injury when the boat he was on was rocked by the wake of a passing vessel. The injured man fell to the deck of the boat almost going overboard. Harwich firefighters Captain Donald Parker and Bruce Young along with Police Sergeant Kevin Considine removed the victim from the boat and transferred him to a Chatham mutual aid ambulance where he was taken to Cape Cod Hospital.

Driver seriously injured in Marstons Mills car vs tree

Firefighters work to free the driver of a Ford Focus after it struck a tree in Marstons Mills.
MARSTONS MILLS - At about 9:20 a.m., Centerville, Osterville, Marstons Mills Fire and Barnstable Police responded to a single car crash into a tree on School Street near Able Way in Marstons Mills.
The driver of a Ford Focus was trapped inside the car and firefighters had to used the Jaws of Life to remove the roof to free the driver. He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.
Barnstable Police charged the driver, 50-year-old Roger Paron of Marstons Mills with operating to endanger and operating with a revoked license.

Toyota vs Toyota in Falmouth

One person was injured in this collision in Falmouth Saturday morning.
FALMOUTH - An early two vehicle crash at the intersection of Brick Kiln Road and Sandwich Road in East Falmouth sent one person to Falmouth Hospital by Falmouth Fire Rescue ambulance with minor injuries.
A Toyota Avalon and a Toyota Corolla collided in the intersection with moderate damage and only one injury requiring transport, but traffic at this very busy intersection began backing up in all four directions and prompted quick action by Falmouth Police and tow truck operators to clear the intersection.

Yarmouth Patrol Officer Elected to High School Athletic Hall of Fame
WEST YARMOUTH - The Yarmouth Police Department reports that at a ceremony held on Saturday, June 20, 2009, in Holden, Massachusetts, Yarmouth Police Patrol Officer Mary F. Gibney was elected to the Wachusett Regional High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Patrol Officer Gibney -- a Class of 1992 graduate of Wachusett Regional High School -- was elected to her high school Athletic Hall of Fame for her outstanding achievements in basketball, soccer, and softball.
Patrol Officer Gibney also starred in athletics at Westfield State College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice in 1996. During her time at Westfield State College, Patrol Officer Gibney was part of the 1996 NCAA Division III Women’s Championship Basketball Team, named ECAC Division III Rookie of the Year in 1992, and was named an All American in Women’s Division III Basketball Northeast.
Patrol Officer Gibney is a three-year veteran of the Yarmouth Police Department and is consistently rated by her Supervisors as a highly motivated, intelligent, and proactive Police Officer.
