Chatham Police Investigate Overnight Rollover Crash-Driver Arrested for OUI 3rd Offense

Debris lies scattered after a pickup truck rolled over in Chatham. Police arrested the driver for operating under the influence of alcohol.
CHATHAM - On Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 11:51pm, Chatham Police responded Main Street and School Street, for a motor vehicle crash. Police arrived and located a one vehicle crash, where the vehicle left the roadway, struck a utility pole, rolled over and landed upright on Main Street.

Police determined that the operator was the sole occupant. The operator, 31-year-old Tyler H. Husband of Yarmouth, was placed under arrest. Mr. Husband was charged with: Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol (3rd Offense), Operating a Motor Vehicle to Endanger, Failure to Stay Within Marked Lanes, and Speeding.

On scene police located several empty alcohol bottles in and around the vehicle, a 1994 Ford Ranger Pickup, which suffered major damage.

Mr. Husband was transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Chatham Fire/Rescue for minor injuries.

The crash is being investigated by Chatham Police Department; Sgt. Andrew B. Goddard, and Officer Ryan D. Coholan.

Mr. Husband was scheduled to be arraigned today in Orleans District Court.

Shots reported fired in Mashpee
MASHPEE
 - Gunfire reportedly hit a house in Mashpee around 11:10 p.m. Mashpee Police and Fire rushed to a residence on South Sandwich Road. One person suffered minor injuries from flying glass. Police are continuing to investigate. Further details were not immediately available.

Single-vehicle crash on Route 6
BARNSTABLE
 - A driver escaped serious injury after their vehicle reportedly crashed into the woods on Route 6. The crash happened Wednesday evening about 11:40 p.m. on the eastbound side between exits 6 and 7. State Police are investigating.

Fireworks cause scare in Hyannis
HYANNIS
 - Barnstable Police say it was fireworks that caused a ruckus on Hiramar Road Wednesday afternoon. Police received numerous 911 calls reporting shots fired on the street with a long history of trouble. They quickly determined someone had set off several "bottle rockets".

Domestic suspect arrested after brief standoff in Wellfleet
WELLFLEET 
- On Wednesday at approximately 3:22 a.m., the Wellfleet Police Department received a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance in progress at 285 Main Street. Officers John Taylor, James Cambell  and Mark Sklutt responded and found 40-year-old Seth Emond of Wellfleet barricaded inside. Officers were able to gain entry and after a short struggle, take Emond into custody on the following charges: aggravated assault and battery, unarmed burglary, trespassing, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest. Emond was due to be arraigned later Wednesday in Orleans District Court. The victim was evaluated by Wellfleet Rescue.

Westbound woes on Route 6


YARMOUTH - Road work had traffic tied up westbound between exits 8 and 7 in Yarmouth Wednesday morning.
