March 12, 2013 (BOSTON) _ The U-S attorney is charging a New Jersey man with sexually exploiting a Cape Cod teenager.

Anthony Scarano, 51, appeared in U-S District Court in Boston yesterday on the criminal complaint. The investigation involved Barnstable and Yarmouth police.

Federal investigators accuse Scarano of exchanging sexually explicit photos with a
teenaged girl from the Cape over a year ago.

He allegedly directed the minor to produce sexually explicit videos and exchange them with him.

Scarano – who faces up to 30 years in prison -- was charged last month after investigators executed a search warrant at his New Jersey home.

He’ll return to court on March 22 for a probable cause hearing.
