March 4, 2013 (DENNIS) _ Residents and local merchants opposed to a Lowe’s home improvement store coming to Dennis are getting more organized.
The Old South Dennis Village Association and a group called “Local Business For a Strong Cape Economy” have launched a new web site – www.notolowes.com.
Lowe’s is looking to build a store off Route 134 at the site of the current Dick and Ellie’s Flea Market and Cape Cod Inflatable Theme Park.
The local businesses opposed to the project say it would create a net loss of jobs, increase traffic congestion and detroy community character.
