Snow leads to several crashes
CAPE COD - Light snow and mixed precipitation caused roads to become slippery leading to several crashes. Around 7:30 p.m. a car struck a utility pole on the Service Road between Old Stage Road and Route 149 in West Barnstable. The pole snapped and wires came down forcing the closure of the road. Power was out in the immediate area. The driver was not injured. About 9:45 p.m. a car went into the woods between the Sagamore Bridge and Exit 2 on Route 3 in Bourne. That driver was evaluated by EMTs but was not seriously injured. Then about 11:15 p.m. a pickup struck a pole on White's Path by the Mid-Cape Racquet Club in Yarmouth. No serious injuries but, again, the road had to be closed while utility crews repaired the damage. About 6:30 a.m. a pickup struck a tree on Route 130 in Mashpee. The driver was not seriously injured.

Participating in Monday’s drill were Captain Robert Marseglia, Lieutenant Anthony Kent, Firefighter Timothy Chicoine, Firefighter Christopher Conlon, Firefighter Bert Mosher and Firefighter Vincent Raspante.
