Outer Cape hit by power blackout
PROVINCETOWN - Power was knocked out for over two hours through all of Provincetown and parts of Truro late Saturday morning. Service was restored to most of the 6,300 NStar customers affected by about 1:30 p.m. Southwest winds have been gusting to 49 MPH through the day. It is still not clear exactly what caused the outage. We are checking with NStar officials. Meanwhile Provincetown firefighters were called out during the outage to the Crowne Point Resort at 82 Bradford Street. An emergency generator apparently started a small fire under the platform it was on. The fire was quickly put out.
