Pedestrian injured in Hyannis
HYANNIS
– A pedestrian was injured in Hyannis about 7:10 p.m. It was not clear of the victim was struck by a car or fell in the roadway. The incident happened on Falmouth Road (Route 28) at Pitchers Way. The male victim was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with what were believed to be serious but non life-threatening injuries. Barnstable Police assisted by a Sheriff’s Department deputy are investigating the incident.


One injured in Centerville rear-ender


CENTERVILLE - About 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon, there was a two-vehicle rear-end crash in Centerville on Strawberry Hill Road just south of Route 28. A CHevy Impala appeared to have struck a Nissan Maxima. Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills rescuers evaluated several people, one of which was transported to Cape Cod Hospital.

Two arrested after narcotics investigation in Orleans

ORLEANS
- Orleans Police report that
on Friday afternoon at approximately 1:30 p.m., their detectives and investigators, along with members of the Cape Cod Task Force, arrested Robert Mansfield, 30, and Amy Baird, 24, on Canal Road following a motor vehicle stop. Both are facing charges of possession with intent to distribute heroin, two counts each of possession of class B substance, two counts each of possession of class E substance and possession of a dangerous weapons. The arrests follow a month-long investigation, which affected several outer Cape Cod towns.

During the motor vehicle stop, over eight grams of heroin were seized, along with an undisclosed amount of cash. The street value of the heroin is estimated at over $2,500.
 
Assisting with the investigation were members of the Massachusetts State Police, Barnstable County
Sheriff’s office (K9), Brewster, Harwich and Eastham detectives.

Reminder: Gun take-back in Yarmouth today
YARMOUTH
- Today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Yarmouth Police Headquarters will serve as a collection point for anyone who has unwanted firearms or ammunition.
 
The Yarmouth Police Department provides the following information:

Having a firearm or ammunition in your home is a big responsibility and demands the highest level of respect and security.
 
As a community-based police department we want to insure that any unwanted gun or ammunition is not the subject of theft or a horrible accident involving a child in the home.
 
If anyone finds that they no longer want the responsibility of having a firearm or ammunition in their home please contact us and we will appropriately dispose of the items in accordance with Massachusetts laws.
 
Thanks to some generous local business leaders and families everyone who turns in a gun will receive the following:
