Smoke forces evacuation of Dennis motel, restaurant
DENNISPORT
- The Three Seasons Moter Lodge and the Ocean House Restaurant on Old Wharf Road were evacuated after smoke began filling both buildings about 7 p.m. A commercial clothes dryer was discovered on fire in the motel basement. That fire was quickly knocked down. Smoke was seen coming out of an electrical panel at the restaurant. It was apparently drawn into a conduit running from the adjacent motel. New Year's Eve diners were allowed back in the restaurant. NStar and an electrical inspector were called to further investigate the situation. Several mutual aid were called in as a precaution while the situation was evaluated.
