November 27, 2012 (DENNIS) _ A major road drivers use to travel between Harwich and Dennis is closed to through traffic until late next spring.

Crews have begun work that will replace the Swan Pond River Bridge on Upper County Road.

Only local traffic will be allowed in that area – drivers will be diverted to Route 134 and 28.

The so-called Swan Pond River projects will replace the Upper County Road Bridge and the Route 28 bridge.

A temporary bridge will be constructed alongside the Route 28 bridge during construction of that phase.
