

HARWICH - A Honda Accord leaving the East Harwich post office was hit by a Chevrolet Silverado on South Orleans Road (Route 39) at Bay Road. The crash happened Friday around 12:30 p.m. The elderly man was trapped in his vehicle for twenty minutes until Harwich Fire and Rescue could extract him using the Jaws of Life. The Silverado truck received minor damage. The Honda driver was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries. Harwich Police are investigating and expect to cite him for failure to stop before entering a major roadway.

Power out in P-Town after truck takes down pole, wires

PROVINCETOWN - Most of Provincetown lost power for over an hour just after noon. A cement mixed apparently snagged power lines causing a utility pole to snap on Alden Street.NStar crews were able to restore power to most of the affected customers about 1:15 p.m., At last report only about 50 customers in the immediate area were still out.
Provincetown Police are investigating the incident.

At least one injured in Truro crash

TRURO - At least one person was taken to Cape Cod Hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Truro sometime after 12:30 p.m. The crash happened on Route 6 at South Highland Road when a Toyota Camry and Mini Cooper collided. Truro Police are investigating. Further details were not immediately available.

Boat gutted by fire in Falmouth
FALMOUTH - Fire gutted a boat in Quisset Harbor late Thanksgiving evening. Firefighters had to run lines down the pier of the boatyard to reach the fire which had engulfed the 32-foot workboat and started to spread to the dock. They were able to quickly knock down the flames. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Jaws of Life used to free Yarmouth crash victim
YARMOUTH - Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free a crash victim Thursday evening. The crash happened about 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Buck Island Road and West Yarmouth Road. Crews removed the door of a Toyota Camry to reach the driver who luckily was not seriously injured. Yarmouth Police are investigating.
