November 12, 2012 (YARMOUTH) _ The Department of Transportation will officially dedicate an overpass in Yarmouth this week in memory and honor of U-S Marine Corps Corporal Nicholas Xiarhos.
The Yarmouth native was killed in the line of duty while serving in Afghanistan in 2009.
He was a 2006 graduate of the D-Y Regional High School and is the son of Yarmouth Deputy Police Chief Steven Xiarhos.
Second Barnstable State Representative Demetrius Atsalis – who helped secure the overpass naming – says it’s just a small token of gratitude for Xiarhos’ service to the country.
The ceremony will take place Tuesday beginning at 10:30 a-m at the Route six overpass.
