Cape and Islands taking a hit from ocean storm



November 8, 2012 (HYANNIS) _ The season's first Nor'easter is bringing strong coastal winds and snow inland.

A high-wind warning is in effect for the Cape and Islands. gusts as high as 64 miles an hour were recorded on Nantucket.

Several hundred power outages have also been reported.

Around Cape Cod – there have been reports of minor structural damage and trees down.

Ferry service between the Cape and Islands remains shut down until the winds die down. Airline service to nantucket is also curtailed.

A boat sank at Macmillan Wharf in Provincetown overnight. A home at 20 Briar Patch Lane in Mashpee was struck by a falling tree.
