November 2, 2012 (HYANNIS) The Barnstable Town Council had to abrubtly cancel Thursday night's meeting.
A problem with the official posting was the reason.
The board was scheduled to hold a public hearing on proposed code changes that would deal with problem properties in Barnstable.
The modifications would address building maintenance, the number of people allowed in a residence, noise violations and garbage storage.
The Greater Hyannis Civic Association has been working on ways to deal with properties that regularly attract problems and police attention.
Part of the code change would allow police to charge a property owner for costs associated with responses they make to the house.
