October 9, 2012 (HARWICH) _ Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday on Route 137 in Harwich, between the area of Route 6 to Route 39.

The plan is for the northbound side of the road to be closed to traffic from 7 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday for the next three to five weeks.

During the work, local businesses will remain open and accessible with police officers directing motorists around the closed section of the road via detours.

The major detour will take motorists travelling from the Chatham and South Harwich area, along Route 39, to north on Pleasant Bay Road, and back to Route 137 near Route Six.
