Turtle found stranded in Truro recovering in Quincy center
September 21, 2012 (TRURO) _ A giant, endangered ocean-going sea turtle is clinging to life at the New England Aquarium's Marine Animal Care Center in Quincy.
The seven-foot-long, 655-pound leatherback sea turtle was found Wednesday night on a mud flat in Pamet Harbor in Truro.
Staff from the Massachusetts Audubon Sanctuary located and identified the huge, black, sea-going turtle, and brought it back to the center.
Aquarium biologists and veterinarians are monitoring the giant turtle in the hopes of trying to save it.
