Gov. Patrick in D.C. to talk about local rail project



September 19, 2012 (WASHINGTON) _ Governor Deval Patrick is in Washington, D.C. today to meet with federal officials about the South Coast rail project. 

It would link New Bedford, Fall River and Taunton in a service for Boston-bound commuters.

The plan is currently under environmental review by the state Department of Transportation and the Army Corps of Engineers. 

The governor will meet with top EPA and Army Corps of Engineer officials to talk about the project.

The South Coast rail project has been talked about for decades.
