TRURO - As part of the Truro Treasures weekend, an open house was held at the Truro Public Safety Facility on Route 6 Saturday.
Hundreds of people showed up for demonstrations which included a Coast Guard Helicopter, new police vehicles, a SWAT unit and a K-9 demonstration.
Fire vehicles were also on display and children were able to spray water with fire hoses.
A barbecue provided hot dogs and hamburgers for all.

Barnstable Fire honors CPR heroes

BARNSTABLE - On Saturday, the Barnstable Fire Deptartment honored 2 civilians and 4 firefighters for their actions on July 21 in the parking lot of the Home Depot.Tim Willmont (third from left) had gone into full cardiac arrest when Austin NcDannald, his son-in law to be, and Nicholas O' Donoughue, his niece's husband, began CPR.
Barnstable Firefighter-Paramedic Donna Rex, Firefighters John Fleming and Brian Tyson arrived short time later and took over CPR
They were then assisted by Firefighter Nathan Coughlan, a paramedic from Hyannis.
Mr. Willmont, a teacher, has fully recovered and is back to work. He was also taken for a ride on a Barnstable engine (right).
