Pickup vs propane tank in Provincetown

PROVINCETOWN
- A potentially explosive situation was mitigated in Provincetown Friday afternoon. A Ford Ranger pickup truck somehow ran over an in ground propane tank at the Stop & Shop parking lot off Shankpainter Road in Provincetown around 4 p.m.

The driver was not injured but the hissing sound of leaking gas was reported. Firefighters stretched out a hose line as a precaution while a tow truck carefully lifted the truck off the valve.

Technicians with F.A. Days propane were able to then shut off the gas. Provincetown Police are investigating the incident.
