War victims to be remembered at Hyannis airport

September 11, 2012 (HYANNIS) _ A special Gold Star memorial banner will be displayed in the new passenger terminal at the Barnstable Municipal Airport beginning this week.

The banner will recognize the sacrifices of 135 fallen men and women with ties to Cape Cod and elsewhere in Massachusetts who were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It’s part of a special program called “Tribute Flight” – a 77-day humanitarian mission.

There will be a special recognition ceremony at 12:00 p.m. on September 12th inside the terminal.
