8/24 (Falmouth) A group opposed to the Cape Wind Farm has appealed a federal ruling that says the project poses no danger to airplanes, saying the decision is steeped in politics

August 24, 2012 (FALMOUTH) A group opposed to the Cape Wind Farm has appealed a federal ruling that says the project poses no danger to airplanes, saying the decision is steeped in politics.

The FAA last week issued a determination of "no hazard" for the 130-turbine project off Cape Cod.

An appeals court had forced the FAA to reconsider a previous approval.

In its appeal -- the alliance to protect Nantucket Sound says the FAA put politics ahead of public safety.

FAA documents have shown employees felt political pressure to approve Cape Wind.

A Cape Wind spokesman said the appeal has dim prospects.
