Small fire knocks out power to Hyannis condos
HYANNIS - An electrical fire has rendered 28 units of the Cape Crossroads Condos unhabitable. The late Monday morning fire, apparently caused by water leaking into the electrical system was quickly contained. However, the electrical equipment was condemned and will have to be replaced. Some of the parts are not readibly available and the project could take up to a month. Residents are scrambling to find alternate places to stay. The complex is no stranger to fire. On November 26th, 2001, a massive four alarm fire tore several units at the complex. A faulty ceiling fan in a bathroom is believed to have started the fire. You can see a retrospective of that blaze here.
