6/14 (Barnstable) The state attorney general’s office is ordering the Barnstable Town Council to release complete executive session meeting minutes from a June 25th, 2011 subcommittee meeting

June 14, 2012 (BARNSTABLE) The state attorney general’s office is ordering the Barnstable Town Council to release complete executive session meeting minutes from a June 25th, 2011 subcommittee meeting.

The AG issued the findings following the filing of two open meeting law complaints.

The meeting in question included discussion of former town manager John Klimm’s buyout package later approved by the full council.

The attorney general says minutes previously released were incomplete – and the purpose for the executive session has expired.

A claim the subcommittee meeting was not properly posted was not considered because it wasn’t filed in time.

Klimm’s contract buyout caused months of rancor on the council – and contributed to the ouster of 3 councilors in last November’s election.
