10/12 (Dennis) By a slim eleven vote margin – Dennis residents vote to continue the process of pulling grades K-through-8 from the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District

October 12, 2011 (DENNIS) By a slim eleven vote margin – Dennis residents vote to continue the process of pulling grades K-through-8 from the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District.

Despite recommendations against the move from selectmen and the school superintendent – voters at last night’s special town meeting approved an article dealing with the issue.

It asks the school committee to develop an amendment to the regional school agreement de-regionalizing grades K-to-8.

In other action – an article that would have allowed Dennis students to attend the elementary schools in Yarmouth failed.

Residents did approve money for erosion control at Chapin beach.
