8/30 (Cape Cod) The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency says they remain full activated in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene – managing requests for assistance

August 30, 2011 (CAPE COD) The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency says they remain full activated in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene – managing requests for assistance.

MEMA Director Kurt Schwartz says the state of emergency remains in effect. The recovery effort is taking two distinct tracks – responding to major flooding in the western half of the state and major wind damage and power loss in the east.

Nstar says Cape Cod still has 16-thousand customers without power. Schwartz says they’ll continue to monitor the restoration effort from the Bershires to Provincetown over the next couple of days.
