July 20, 2011 (CAPE COD) The wife of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has died.           

The team says Myra Hiatt Kraft died this morning after a battle with cancer. She played a significant role in the team's philanthropic efforts.           

She and her husband were instrumental in funding the current Boys and Girls Club in Mashpee.         

The Krafts have lived in New Seabury for more than 40 years.           

Earlier this year the club created the Myra and Robert Kraft business partner of the year award.           

Patriots officials say everyone with the team is heartbroken and added that the philanthropic community has "suffered a great loss."
