A 26-year-old Hyannis man accused of shooting his roommate last month is slated to appear for a probable cause hearing today in Barnstable District Court.

Paulo Farias has pleaded not guilty to several assault and weapons charges.

He told police that a fight erupted at their place on Winter Street after he called out his 41-year-old roommate for repeatedly exposing himself to his wife.

Farias said the guy pulled a knife on him, so he shot him.

The man suffered gunshot wounds to his head and shoulder.
