Harwich Lifts Water Order

Harwich officials have lifted the Do Not Drink order for the town's water, after approval from the state Department of Environmental Protection.

Officials reported that samples taken on Thursday showed no detection of foam, although residents may experience some discoloration when flushing.

Residents should run all interior and exterior cold water taps for about ten minutes to clear their pipes, then run hot water taps until that water runs cold.

Those with tankless water heaters should run all hot water fixtures simultaneously for ten minutes.

Further testing will take place with the results posted on the town's website.
