Local Groups Work To Help Migrants

Local organizations across Cape Cod are working to come up with viable solutions to assist migrants.

Mark Skala is President and CEO of Cape and Islands United Way; he says nearly two dozen groups have put forward ideas.

Many are dealing with migrants' basic needs, such as clothing, but also achieving proper identifications and helping them with English.

Some 300 migrants are being served, and Skala says while that's a strain on local resources, the new arrivals have shown a willingness to work to make their new homes here.
