Three States Share Cost, Use Of New Turbines

The states of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut entered into a new agreement on wind energy Wednesday.

According to Governor Maura Healey's office, the first-of-its-kind partnership creates a pathway for a potential coordinated selection of offshore wind as each state solicits energy generation through their respective procurements.

They are aiming for a combined total of six-thousand megawatts. Healey pointed out the need for innovation to tackle the climate crisis, and said the states will benefit from working together.
