Cape Murder Suspect Sentanced

A man is being sentenced to life in prison for a Cape Cod murder.

The Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office says Cleber Mariano of Falmouth pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the death of Danielle Taylor, who was from Mashpee.

Police conducted a well being check at the Cape Wind Waterfront Resort in Teaticket and found Taylor strangled on the floor in one of the rooms on February 8th, 2021. The two had been in a relationship.

Under the terms of the sentencing, Mariano will be eligible for parole.
