Cape Residents Seek Governor's Reconsideration Of Migrant Issue

Hundreds of residents came out in Yarmouth over the weekend protesting the Healey Administration effort to place hundreds of homeless immigrants throughout the area.

Many residents say they are upset that the administration did not offer reasons for targeted The Cape, nor do they say did the area get any advance notice. Most local residents wonder whether the Healey Administration has fully vetted the issues.

They say that no one really knows who is being sent here, what their needs are or anything else.

They say that the local community has its own issues with a lack of services, unemployment, a lack of affordable housing and everything else. And they say the area will be further negatively impacted by even more families with needs coming in.

Protesters say they are not going to give up their fight- because they say the standard of living for the entire Cape Region is at stake.
