Brewster: Nitrogen Removal Goals Being Met

The town of Brewster received good news about nitrogen this week.

The Cape Cod Chronicle reports the coordinator of the Pleasant Bay Alliance told a joint meeting of the select board and the board of health that Brewster is fully compliant with its nitrogen removal goals set forth in the management plan of the water resource.

Pleasant Bay is one of four watersheds in Brewster that are impacted by new regulations that took effect in Massachusetts earlier this summer.

Governor Maura Healey said nitrogen pollution is one of the most pressing environmental and economic problems facing Cape Cod.
