In South Carolina, the Horry County Coroner's Office has identified the eleven-year-old girl who died Wednesday after a boating accident on the Intracoastal Waterway.
The girl, Olivia Knighton, the daughter of retired New England Revolution goalkeeper Brad Knighton.
In a statement from the family, Knighton said that "Our family is still in shock at the sudden and tragic loss of our beautiful and brilliant daughter, Olivia, to an unfortunate boating accident."
Deputy Coroner Patty Bellamy said an autopsy is scheduled for today for Olivia.
The accident happened at a section of the waterway near Waterfront Avenue in Little River, just north of North Myrtle Beach.
The investigation is being headed by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, which has not provided any additional details at this time.
