National Weather Service Confirms Cape Tornado Activity

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down Thursday.

A weak, EF-0 tornado touched down in Dennis at around 1:30-am Thursday morning.

Anthony DiMarco says he and his wife were woken up by the sound of two large trees in their yard snapping in half.

The Weather Service says it lasted for less than one minute, but that’s all it needed to do some damage.

The twister was estimated to be about 15 yards wide with an estimated maximum wind speed of 75mph.
