Massachusetts Board Of Education Votes In Favor Of Mask Mandate

The Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education have voted in favor of Commissioner Jeffrey Riley’s request for the authority to issue a mask mandate for staff and students in public K-12 schools.

That vote coming down in a 9-1 decision.

Students ages 5 and up and all staff will be required to wear a mask indoors through at least Oct. 1st.

After that date, middle and high schools will be able to lift the mandate for vaccinated people if they reach at least an 80% vaccination rate.
