Property Defacement Charge Dropped Against MV Shellfish Constable

A property defacement charge is being dropped against a Martha’s Vineyard shellfish constable.

The MV Times reports the count against Paul Bagnall, who holds the position in Edgartown, was dismissed in district court on Tuesday on the condition of paid restitution.

Bagnall was charged after allegedly tearing up a neighbor's lawn with a town pickup truck.

Edgartown Town Administrator James Haggerty did not comment on the newspaper's inquiry about whether Bagnall would face ramifications related to his job, saying it is an ongoing personnel matter.
