Woman Seriously Injured In Route 6A Crash

A woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash involving a pole early Thursday morning.

The Barnstable Fire Department got the call about the crash on Route 6A in the area of Bone Hill road at 2:07 a.m., Barnstable Fire Capt. Kevin Brailey said.

The crash snapped base of the pole, causing it to fall on top of the vehicle with live wires.

The vehicle's lone occupant suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, Brailey said.

She was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment. Route 6A was closed from Mary Dunn Road to Bone Hill Road from the time of the crash until approximately 11 a.m. while Eversource crews were working to replace the pole.
